Unofficial Withdrawal Policy

If you receive all 'WU' grades for the quarter, you are considered to have unofficially withdrawn for that term. Cal Poly records the midpoint of the term as your withdrawal date to determine your refund/repayment amounts, see Refund & Repayment Policy .

Under the university's grading policy, a grade of WU indicates that a student failed to complete the course requirements. It is used to identify students who did not officially withdraw from the course, but ceased attending class and doing class work prior to the deadline date for official withdrawals. For the purpose of GPA computation, this symbol is equivalent to an "F".

In cases of documented emergency withdrawal, this unofficial withdrawal procedure may be waived.
